AI Policy
As a record label and a platform for real, human artists, we categorically reject the use of AI in visual arts, music, music videos, music PR and social media communication.
We have been controversially discussing this here within the team, and came to the conclusion that we are not comfortable releasing anything that is AI created.
There is obviously a lot to say about this topic and I’m sure there is plenty of great use for AI in the big wide world out there, but we feel quite strongly that AI does not have a place within the world of arts — not even in an experimental way, not even with the disclaimer of „let’s see what happens“, not even under the guise of curiosity.
AI is increasingly acting as a competitor with human artists driven by real thoughts, emotions and reflections. It’s becoming a hazard for the continued existence of genuine art created by humans, who pour their souls and invest the time of their lives into their creative work.
From a merely pragmatic point of view, releasing especially AI-generated music videos is a sure fire way to attract a lot of flak and to piss off every creative that we work with.
We are approaching a time when it will be often very difficult to tell apart genuine human art from AI-created art, it’s going to be challenging… but we are not there quite yet, and as long as we can identify it, we will not accept it. AI is a „terminator“ of a lot of things we hold dear that we need to identify and keep at a safe distance.
We hope you understand and support us in this decision.
