The PELAGIAL box sets have not been shipped yet! We are still waiting for the box sets to arrive. They are expected to clear customs this week and we will start packing and shipping on Friday, as soon as they arrive. Everyone should have received their download codes by now; if you haven't please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will sort you out instantly.
Lo!'s new album "Monstrorum Historia" is currently streaming at the link below! Make sure to check those Aussie mates out live on tour with The Ocean and Cult of Luna all over Europe in the next 3 weeks, because those guys kick a whole lot of ass!
One of the amazing things about Swedish instrumentalists EF is that they are sweet and heavy at the same time; that they can win over an indie or post-rock crowd as much as a metal crowd. EF's 3rd and latest full length release. 2nd edition, the first one is already sold out. If you loved "Delusions of Grandeur", you will surely dig this album as well... epic, lenghty compositions, unrivalled atmospheric density, outstanding songwriting... for fans of Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, This Will Destroy you... but EF really are a league of their own.
After 2 years of relentless touring in North America, Europe, Russia, China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and Australia, The Ocean have resurfaced with what could be their deepest and most trailblazing piece of work to date, Pelagial: a progressive musical journey, written, recorded, mixed and to-be-performed-live as one single 53-minutes piece of music. Mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Witchcraft) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebrö, Sweden, Pelagial is set to be released on April 26th / 29th (Europe) and April 30th (North America / world) through Metal Blade Records.
Pelagial will be released as a 2xCD, including a vocal and an instrumental version of the album. The CD version (on Metal Blade Records) comes in a 10-panel digipak with epic artwork by
Seldon Hunt (see mockup below). The vinyl version (Pelagic Records) consists of four 10" EPs in various vinyl colours and styles, packed into 2 gatefolds.
Swiss trio Coilguns are set to release their debut album "Commuters" on February 22nd (GAS) and February 25th (rest of Europe). CD and LP with silk-screened cover artwork are available now for preorder, check the shop page!
"Commuters" was entirely recorded live, every song in one take. The incorporation of synths and more guitar and bass loops has added more depth to their original punky yet heavy sound. Some tracks on the album are featuring up to 5 guitar players at the same time. No overdubs or edits have been made on this record except for the vocals.
Coilguns have been pushing their boundaries to find a unique and most certainly odd sound, and by simplifying their songwriting, they've intensified and emphasized their heavyness.
Here's a video trailer:
The band will be on tour in February to support the release. Here's the facebook events page:
From the darkest parts of Northern Sweden, THE OLD WIND blows... raw and cold, just like its origin and heritage. This constellation of 5 is a new project incepted by Tomas Hallbom, former vocalist of legendary pre-post-rock visionaries BREACH, and features members of BREACH and THE OCEAN.
TOW are set to release their debut album on Pelagic Records in April 2013 (vinyl & digital formats only).
On May 10, 2013, we will finally be able to present the majority of our PELAGIC RECORDS artists on the same stage, at Berlin's C-Club! Don't miss the ultimate Pelagic night, featuring KHOMA, EF, ABRAHAM, KRUGER, EARTHSHIP, LO!, THE OCEAN and special guests CULT OF LUNA!
2013 will be a busy year for THE OCEAN. The band will release a new album on April 26 (GSA), April 29 (Europe) and April 30 (USA) 2013 on Metal Blade Records, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed "Heliocentric" and "Anthropocentric" albums (2010). To support the release, THE OCEAN will embark on a 3 weeks European tour with CULT OF LUNA in April and May (dates further below), including a performance at Roadburn Festival on April 20th.
The new album will be a single album containing 52 minutes of new music. It will be mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, ...) in January and will come in 2 versions: instrumental and with vocals. Comments The Ocean's Robin Staps: "The album was originally written to be instrumental, but in the end me and Loic couldn't help but try out a few things vocalwise and we soon got pretty excited... so there will be vocals on the album; however, we want everyone to have both versions, and we are also planning to perform the album live that way - with and without vocals."
The special edition of the album will be released along with a film by Craig Murray (Nine Inch Nails).
The 3xDVD "Collective Oblivion" has been postponed for a release later in the year, but shall also see the light of day in 2013.
